In 2012 and for the first time, a deep neural network won the ImageNet competition and by a large margin. Since this event considered as the climax of Artificial Intelligence in Computer Vision, Deep Learning keeps on offering better performances.
DNN generalise well and are extremely robust. But this creates a false sense of security. They are indeed extremely vulnerable.
